For Barangays

Make everyday barangay services easier to access.

NexBayan is designed to give residents a convenient way to request the documents a barangay handles every day — and to give barangay staff a simpler way to receive, review, track and complete those requests.

Common barangay services

These are the kinds of requests NexBayan is built to carry. Every barangay sets its own list, requirements and fees — nothing here is imposed as a standard catalogue.

  • Barangay clearance

The clearance residents are commonly asked for — for work, school, permits and personal transactions.

    • Request form with the barangay's own requirements
    • Purpose recorded with the request
  • Certificates

Certificates a barangay issues from its own records, each with the wording and requirements the barangay sets.

    • Certificate of residency
    • Certificate of indigency
    • Certificate of good moral character
  • Resident requests

Everyday requests that are not documents — the ones that today usually mean a trip to the hall to ask.

    • Assistance and referral requests
    • Concerns and follow-ups on an open request
  • Other local services

Space for the services particular to one barangay, added when the barangay is ready rather than all at once.

    • Locally defined forms
    • Services published or hidden as priorities change

Services are configured per barangay, not fixed nationally. A barangay can start with one or two requests residents already ask for and add more later. For services handled at the municipal or city level, see solutions for LGUs.

How it works for residents

Four steps, in the order a resident would experience them. Some services still need documents verified in person, a signature, or payment at the barangay hall — NexBayan is meant to make those steps clear, not to hide them.

  1. 01

    Choose a service

See what the barangay currently offers, with its requirements and any fee shown before anything is filled in.

  2. 02

    Submit

Fill in the request and attach what is asked for. A reference is issued so the request can be found again.

  3. 03

    Track

Follow the request as staff work on it, instead of returning to the hall to ask whether it is ready.

  4. 04

    Receive

Depending on the service and the barangay's own rules, the result may be released digitally or picked up at the barangay hall.

Release depends on the service and on the barangay. A document may be issued digitally, or a resident may be asked to collect it at the barangay hall — the request says which, so no one travels to find out.

A clearer workflow for barangay staff

The same request seen from behind the counter. NexBayan can be configured around how a barangay already works, rather than asking it to change first.

  • Request management

Incoming requests arrive in one place, with what the resident submitted attached, so nothing depends on remembering a conversation at the counter.

  • Status updates

Move a request forward as it is reviewed, approved or completed. The resident sees the same status, so they can check without calling or dropping by.

  • Internal notes

Staff can leave notes on a request for whoever handles it next — a missing requirement, a verification still pending, a decision already made.

  • Payment tracking

Where a service carries a fee, the request can record whether it has been settled. Barangays that collect at the counter keep doing exactly that.

  • Transaction history

Completed requests stay searchable, so a past clearance or certificate can be looked up without going through a filing cabinet.
